Uses for reach trucks
Standard forklifts have front forks. They can lift heavy loads into the air, but they have a limited reach. They are best suited to stacking and moving pallets of goods. Reach trucks, on the other hand, have extendable forks that can lift and place goods directly onto warehouse shelves and racks. The reach forks can be controlled directly from the truck’s cab, they make it simple and easy to store heavy and bulky items safely.
Reach trucks are designed with a narrow body, so they can slip between warehouse aisles and turn to face the shelves. They usually have four wheels for added stability, as three-wheel trucks are more prone to tipping.
